FIRMWARE UPDATE

To update the firmware of the trainer, you need to use WhiizU pairing to connect to the XPEDO trainer

Once your trainer is paired and connected to the WhiizU app, click on the trainer icon to find out the current firmware version of the trainer

If the update option is not displayed, it means the firmware is already the latest version
If a newer version is available for update, the system will inform you that there is a new version for you to update.
Click the update button to start the firmware update process.

Do APX Pro and APX Comp come with different thru-axle adapters?
The APX Pro comes with 130/135mm QR, 12×142, and 12×148 thru-axle adapters.

Does the APX Pro and APX Comp come with a cassette?
No, a cassette is not included. The APX PRO features a hub shell that is compatible with SHIMANO®/SRAM® 9/10/11-speed cassettes. Install the spacer before mounting a 9/10-speed cassette. No spacer is required for an 11-speed cassette.

Does the APX Pro and APX Comp work with Zwift?
Yes, after linking the trainer to your Zwift account. Refer to the Trainer Setup section for more information on pairing.

Trainer setup - APX PRO and APX Comp
Tools Needed: 5mm Allen Key, Cassette Lock Ring Tool
Step 1 - Confirm the bike specification
Confirm the bike specifications and rear wheel hub type and width before using the trainer.
Step 2 - Set Up the Trainer
Place the APX Pro and APX Comp Smart Trainer on a stable, solid surface.
Adjust the base frame to the wheel size of the bicycle (24", Adjust the base frame to the wheel size of the bicycle (24", 26" or 700C). First loosen and remove the locking screw on the stand (as shown in the circle in picture 1) by turning it counterclockwise, move the support frame to the desired wheel size and tighten the locking screw.
Step 3 - Assemble the Steering Knuckle Parts
Choose compatible parts for the knuckle, depending on the type of bike. The parts are engraved with corresponding specifications for identification. Follow the installation instructions carefully to avoid accidents while using the APX Pro and APX Comp Smart Trainer.
Mount the frame conversion cover R of the relevant type on the steering knuckle housing. If you are using a 5×130/135mm bicycle, the frame conversion cap R (Item No. B) is already fitted. If you are using a 12×142mm or 12×148mm bicycle, first remove the 5×130/135mm axle end cap on the trainer. Use a 5mm Allen key and turn counterclockwise to remove the end cap. Select a compatible size end cap (Item No. D) to lock it into the knuckle by using a 17mm spanner and turning clockwise until secure.
Mount the cassette on the APX PRO Smart Trainer. Install the cassette according to the manual. The APX PRO features a hub shell that is compatible with SHIMANO®/SRAM® 9/10/11-speed cassettes. Install the spacer (item no. F) before mounting a 9/10-speed cassette. No spacer is needed for an 11-speed cassette. (NOTE: Cassette is not included, please purchase according to the corresponding specification).
Install the reversible axle spacer L of the corresponding type in the non-drive side of the steering knuckle housing. Use adapter no. A if the bike type is 5×130/135mm; use spacer no. C if the bike type is 12×142/148 mm. Follow the mounting direction as shown below. Pay attention to the mounting direction when assembling the parts to avoid accidents. The corresponding specifications are engraved with specification/size on the adapter sleeve.
Install a quick-release with corresponding specification. 5mm quick release is included (Item No. E).
Remove the nut and single-sided spring on the end of the quick-release.
Insert the quick release into the reversible axle spacer L and the knuckle housing.
Reinstall the spring on the end of the quick release (short side of the spring inwards) and the nut. Keep the quick-release open to assemble the bike.
Step 2 - Set Up the Trainer
Place the APX Pro and APX Comp Smart Trainer on a stable, solid surface.
Adjust the base frame to the wheel size of the bicycle (24", Adjust the base frame to the wheel size of the bicycle (24", 26" or 700C). Extend the red spring pin by pulling up on the pin, unfold the stand and pull out the stand. When you hear a "click" sound, the stand is in place. Open both standards sequentially. Move the stand slightly to make sure it is securely fastened.
Adjust the stand to the floor surface. The APX Pro and APX Comp Smart Trainer is equipped with two adjustable non-slip feet (silver colored) on the end of the stand. First turn the top red locking knob counterclockwise to release. Adjust the non-slip feet to the desired height: turn clockwise to lengthen and counterclockwise to shorten. Tighten the lock knobs clockwise to lock the stand.
Step 4 - Attach the Bike
Make sure the rear wheel type of the bicycle is equipped with the freewheel configuration of the trainer.
Adjust the shift position of the bicycle before mounting. It is recommended to place the front chain on the smallest cog; the rear chain on the second or third cog (from smallest to largest). Open the rear wheel quick-release and remove it.
Mount the bike on the APX Pro and APX Comp. Hold the front wheel direction of the bike with one hand; release the chain by pressing the cage of the with another hand
the rear derailleur to place it on the second or third cog. Place the rear fork of the bicycle on the quick release of the trainer; make sure the rear fork is aligned with the axle; press firmly on the bicycle frame to set the bicycle. The front wheel can be lifted slightly off the ground to check that the frame is fully secured to the APX Pro and APX Comp.
Tighten the quick-release. Tighten the quick-release nut with the appropriate force and clamp the quick-release lever closed. If the quick-release lever cannot be pressed, loosen the nut first.
test run. Run the chain by turning the crank slightly to test operation after assembly. Reinstall the bicycle if an abnormal noise occurs unexpectedly during operation.

My trainer won't pair with Smart Devices
Check that the trainer is connected to the power supply and that the LEDs are lit.
Check if the smart device is "ON".
Check the wireless connection, the ANT+ USB dongle must be connected to your computer or tablet. If you are using a Bluetooth connection, make sure the Bluetooth function is turned on.

My bike rocks during use
Check that the bicycle is correctly installed according to the manual.
Make sure the flywheel is fully tightened before use if it has been removed or reinstalled.

My bike makes abnormal noises when I step on the pedals
Check whether the bicycle is mounted correctly. It is recommended to reassemble the bicycle by following the "Step 4" according to the manual. If the abnormal noise cannot be ruled out, please contact the nearest bicycle shop for assistance.

The legs of the stand on the trainer cannot rotate smoothly
Turn the stand slightly and push the leg back on. If the leg still cannot be depressed, do not force the leg to depress to avoid personal danger or product malfunction. If the legs of the trainer still do not move smoothly, please contact us or the nearest dealer for assistance.

Does the Xpedo APX Smart trainer need to be calibrated?
XPEDO APX Smart Trainer is 100% factory calibrated and does not require recalibration.

How should the maintenance of the Xpedo APX Smart trainer be done?
XPEDO APX Smart Trainer is not waterproof. Keep the trainer dry. DO NOT use it in a humid environment.
After riding, wipe the Smart Trainer with a dry cloth to remove any sweat from use.
Turn off the power while cleaning. Use only a dry cloth for cleaning. DO NOT USE detergent or cleaning powder.
Remove the plug from the socket after each use. Store the power cord properly to avoid a hazard.
Store the XPEDO APX Smart Trainer indoors when not in use for a long time. Keep the trainer dry and avoid exposure to direct sunlight. Keep the trainer away from fire, water and other hazardous materials.
The XPEDO APX Smart Trainer does not have the mechanical structure that can be adjusted by the user. DO NOT disassemble the trainer. If the trainer is disassembled by the user, the warranty will be void. In case of malfunction, contact an authorized XPEDO dealer for assistance.

How long is the warranty on the Xpedo APX Smart trainer?
XPEDO APX Smart Trainer is warranted to be free from defects in materials for one year from the date of purchase. Within this period, XPEDO will, at its option, repair or replace any parts that fail under normal use. Repairs or replacements will be made at no cost to the customer for parts or labour. The customer will be responsible for all necessary shipping costs to the warranty center. Requirements for warranty claims: 1. 1. To make a warranty claim, you must have the original proof of purchase. 2. XPEDO APX Smart Trainer is suitable for wireless communication via ANT+ and Bluetooth 4.1 protocols. As long as the software complies with Bluetooth4.1 and ANT+, the communication protocol can be used. (EX: Zwift, ROUVY, Kinomap...) Officially recommended APP: WhiizU, is capable of firmware updates and supports iOS, Android and Windows PC. Please refer to WhiizU's official website for details on system version requirements.
